This camp is perfect for those athletes preparing for spring/ summer Ironman and 70.3 races.

This fully supported week will provide a perfectly timed fitness boost.

2013 will be the fifth year that Michael Lovato has coached a triathlon camp in Solvang. Partnering with the Solvang Triathlon Camps, Lovato Performance will be offering a demanding and fun training week for 70.3 and Ironman athletes, as well as for pure cyclists.

The goal of this camp will be to provide a well timed boost to your fitness in preparation for you key spring and summer races. We will offer lectures in race fueling, proper pacing, as well as adequate recovery.  The week will be filled with coached swim, bike, and run sessions, and you’ll have the chance to experience life as a professional athlete.   Catered meals are provided, and your training and recovery fuel is also supplied.  Couple that with access to on-site massage therapy and professional grade Recovery Pump devices, you’ll be able to make training your full time job.  All rides are fully supported, with distances varying from 15 to 80 miles.  This beautiful and hilly terrain will offer a welcome break from your day-to-day riding, or even better, a break from the indoor training!

Solvang Running

If you have the choice, our vote is a road bike. While a triathlon-specific bike will be more than adequate for this camp, a road bike will be more perfectly suited for the group rides and hilly terrain. Gearing should be set up to allow the rider to tackle long climbs, as well as steep ones.  Depending on riding style, a compact cransket would be useful, and a cassette with a 25 or 27 tooth cog would be helpful.

Road Bike

Athletes looking to improve on or to complete a 70.3 or Ironman event this year (and/or those who have completed a century ride). Once again, we do welcome pure cyclists. We will have 2 or 3 groups of differently paced cyclists, which allows for a wide variety of paces and experience levels. If you are unsure about the suitability of this camp for you, please email Coach Michael: vatolovato@gmail.com, or the Camp Director, Charlie: info@solvangtriathloncamps.com

Recovery Pump

After 10 years in triathlon, I decided to take my training to another level in 2012 and attended a Solvang Triathlon Camp with Michael Lovato.  In addition to an incredibly well organized camp, the one on one coaching and attention Michael provided made for a special and unique experience.  Michael’s generous time with each attendee, making sure to answer questions, provide feedback and offer suggestions–and even pull at the front of the ride–made the camp experience truly exceptional and fun. I am thrilled that Michael and Amanda Lovato will be working together in 2013 with Solvang Triathlon Camp, and look forward to another fantastic triathlon camp! Don’t miss the opportunity for awesome coaching, incredible training, spectacular views & a whole lot of fun!
